Yo, I'm Tom Smaldone! I'm currently on the UCB Messhall Fall 2019 team Possum

I've been improvising for 8 years. In Denver, CO I was a part of the prime time group Governor Jack where I had the opportunity to perform with UCB greats like Will Hines, Alex Berg, Billy Merrit, Dave Theune, Sebastian Conelli and more. As guests of our show, they also taught workshops and gave private coaching which gave me an early insight into UCB style and game.

I've taught various levels of improv as well as hosting workshops and working with individual teams. My focus there was to introduce non UCB students to game and premise while continue to dig into commitment to scene work and character. My focus is to find the fun of the game while committing to group support.

I've studied with James Mastraeni, Mike McClendon, Miles Stroth, Susan Messing, Armando Diaz, Ian Roberts, Matt Besser, Jet Eveleth, Jill Bernard, and many other amazing instructors from all the big schools. In 2018 my wife and moved to Los Angeles where I completed Upright Citizens Brigade core curriculum and accepted into the Academy Program. I perform around the indie circuit with my team Moon Ranger and currently taking classes at the Groundlings.
