About

Hi there! I’m Sam Bodenstein and I’d love to coach or sub your improv team or practice group.

I’m an improviser living and performing in Los Angeles and I’ve gone through the improv curriculum at UCB, WE Improv, World’s Greatest Improv School, and The Pack. I’ve also taken workshops at the PIT and the Shared Experience Studio, and studied sketch writing at the Pack, storytelling at UCB, and clowning with Chad Damiani (L.A.’s Anarchist Clown Boss).

My instructors have included Corey Willis, Joel Spence, Jessica Eason, Monika Smith, Will Hines, Sarah Claspell, TJ Jagadowski, John Flynn, Johnny Meeks, Anna Rajo, Jake Regal, Aman Adumar, Jake Jabbour, Ben Cassil, Marina Mastros, PJ McCormick, Karen Baughn, Joe Fahey, James Mastraieni, Wayland McQueen, Eric Moneypenny, and Bob Dassie.

I currently perform with four teams in LA. Scooch and Customer Service are residency teams at WE Improv. 94% Gay is an indie team formed, almost completely, of LGBTQIA+ improvisers trained across the country (and Canada) with a monthly show at the Yard called “A Really Cool Gay Show”. And Houdini is an indie team formed from a practice group.

Monoscene, Pretty Flower, Montage, and the Grand Slam are forms I perform regularly, but I’m happy to tailor practices to whatever fits your team. My schedule has some flexibility and I’m down to sub in if you need someone!
