James Jelin

I'm a UCB Harold performer on team Local Tycoon, and I co-host UCB's monthly Lip Sync Competition as Drag Queen Leia Bia. I also perform with WGIS house team The Sauce and on various indie teams at WE Improv, Shared Experience, UCB, The Pack, & The Clubhouse. I was a teacher at Washington Improv Theater in DC, and I regularly coach a number of teams here in LA. I've also trained at Groundlings and have a Theater in degree from Bowdoin College.

My approach focuses on:
- Identifying what is authentically funniest TO YOU, getting on the same page about that with your teammates, and using game to have as much fun with it as possible
- Bringing joy to every move you make
- Theatrical skills for appearing confident and charismatic on stage including voice, body, and stage technique

I've been fortunate to study with teachers including Will Hines, Keisha Zollar, John Milhiser, Jess McKenna, Zach Reino, Ronnie Adrian, Ryan Rosenberg, Monika Smith, Aman Adumer, Billy Merrit, Jake Jabbour, and Anna Bezahler.
