Scott Thiede

My name is Scott, and I'd love to coach your team or practice group! I specialize in scene work fundamentals, the Harold, Monoscene, Pretty Flower, and musical improv. I like to make sure the improvisers I work with are having fun bringing their unique comedic voice to their performances, while aiming to best showcase that voice with tight, clear, simple games. When it comes to musical improv, I like to focus on playing scenes efficiently to get to your songs as quickly as possible, and actually playing the fun games you've found in your scenes throughout your songs.

I am a current house team performer at UCB in Los Angeles. You can catch me perform with my musical Mess Hall team ALMOST MIDNIGHT and my indie team MAD CASES. Also I've competed in UCB DRAG RACE as Kevyn James and am currently performing in UCB DRAG RACE ALL STARS. I've been on Mess Hall multiple times (FANCY, ALMOST MIDNIGHT) and have taken more classes than I'm happy to admit. I've studied under amazing teachers like Johnny Meeks, Beth Appel, Will Hines, Suzi Barrett, Tara Copeland, Dave Theune, Julie Brister, Ronnie Adrian, Mike McLendon, Devin Field, Julia Meltzer, and many more.
